Derby News!!
In 2007
Congratulations to our client Eberle Schultz of New York for catching a tagged derby fish worth $1000. Good thing she had a derby ticket. Other highlights this season included more 100 pound halibut caught this year than last year, some great lingcod in the 55 pound range and a beautiful 18 pound silver salmon!
In 2006 Jordin Keintz, captain of the Bay Explorer caught a beautiful 301 pound halibut that would have won a spot in the derby except for the fact that as a captain he is not eligible to participate. In August long time client Blackie Landreville caught a state trophy size lingcod, weighing in a 62 pounds, on our six pack the Outer Coast with captain Dave DeBrosse.
We placed in the derby again in 2005 in May and June
In the 2004 Halibut Derby our long time customer Richard Brown took first place in July with a 334lb. fish. We also took first place in June and 5th place in May. As you can see Homer Ocean continues to provide premium fishing for all of our clients.

Halibut News!!
Good news for all of us. The daily bag limit for halibut fishing remains at two. So make your plans and come fishing with us.

In the 2003 Halibut Derby we won 2 places in August and our lucky customer Lisa Barnhill won the $10,000 released fish prize.
In the 2002 Halibut derby Homer Ocean Charters won first place . Clayton McDowell's 347 pound monster won him $48,675 in prize money. See more on our fishing page or the Halibut Derby Website.
